Why are documents required?
Telecommunications regulations in many countries require identity verification before a phone number can be assigned. This is to prevent fraud and ensure compliance with local laws. When are documents needed?
Documents are required when:- You purchase a local number in certain countries (e.g. Germany, France)
- The number type has specific regulatory requirements
- Telnyx flags the number as requiring verification
You’ll see regulatory requirements listed when browsing available numbers. Numbers without requirements can be used immediately after purchase.
